French and Romanian authorities dismantled a vast human trafficking ring with the support of Eurojust and Europol. 13 victims of sexual exploitation were saved, and 13 suspects were arrested.
Russian customs have seized 400 kilos of cocaine estimated around $70M hidden in St-Petersburg port. The illicit drug came by ship from Ecuador and was hidden in a container with canned fish. Last January, 50 kilos of cocaine were seized in a banana shipment from Ecuador in St-Petersburg.
Police have seized over $2M worth of heroin concealed in chocolate packets at Entebbe International Airport, Uganda. This is the biggest single seizure of narcotics in decades in the country. Uganda is considered a major transit country for illicit drug trafficking along the heroine route going from Afghanistan to Europe.
