Police in Brazil have broken up a smuggling ring where divers strapped cocaine to the hulls of cargo ships departing for Europe, without the crew knowing. More than 200 kilos of cocaine were seized and a dozen people arrested during a massive police operation in Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo, authorities said in a news release.
31/08 US Customs and Border Protection Finds $13.9 Million Worth of Cocaine inside a Container Arriving from the Dominican Republic, destined to Puerto Rico. The container was opened and CBP Officers discovered twelve duffel bags inside the container, five by the door and seven commingled with the commodity. A total of four hundred and fourteen bricks were removed from the duffel bags.
