- In Guatemala, an investigation shows the links between an influential pastor and a high-profile drug-trafficker to support the construction of a church. The concerned pastor and church denied the accusations.
- A legal expert suggests that Kenya include the Unexplained Wealth Order (UWO) in the country’s criminal law. In other countries, the UWO has had some success in fighting corruption and money laundering linked to criminal activities such as drug trafficking.
- Venezuela’s National Anti-Drug Office (ONA) announced that, as of November, the authorities have seized 28 aircraft related to drug trafficking. The boom in drug transportation by air can be explained both by the increase of cocaine production in Colombia, and the increase in trafficking via Venezuela.
