- Federal prosecutors reveal a list of potential witnesses to testify against Mexican drug lord ‘’El Chapo’’. Among them, two of Chicago’s most important drug dealers, the son of “El Chapo” right hand man and the official who helped him escaping from prison in 2001. The trial will take place in Brooklyn starting November 5, 2018.
- China’s anti-corruption “blitz” continues with the detention of the Vice Minister for Public Security and Interpol Chief, Meng Hongwei. Suspected to have received briberies, he has been taken in custody in China. Although expected to fill his position as head of Interpol until 2020 he resigned on Sunday.
- A report by the Ana Liffey Drug Project and the LSE points the ambiguity of the Irish legislation on penalisation for individual drug possession. A meeting with the concerned authorities has been set in late 2018 to suggest non-punitive sanctions for personal use.
