The second edition of the joint SEACOP and Maritime Analysis and Operations Centre (Narcotics) – MAOC (N) “Threat and Case Studies” initiative was held yesterday, led by Brazil.
This series of online regional meetings aims to bring together countries from Latin America to discuss different threats and cases in order to improve the exchange of information, build trust between partners and facilitate international cooperation.
In yesterday’s edition, officials from the Federal Police of Brazil delivered an excellent presentation on various cases of money laundering and drug trafficking.
All countries of the region were involved, as well as Guyana, Jamaica and several countries from West Africa. The MCBS Project and the Bilateral Programme of Peru of the European Union also participated in the meeting.
These virtual meetings are scheduled to take place on a monthly basis, with each participating country deciding the specific topics to be discussed.
