The 46th Meeting of the Facilitation Committee (FAL46) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) adopted new ‘Guidelines for the Prevention and Suppression of the Smuggling of Wildlife on Ships Engaged in International Maritime Traffic’.
06/06 Team Europe strengthens cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean partners to combat Transnational Organised Crime. The European Union is deepening its cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) partners to address shared challenges in the area of fight against transnational organised crime through a dedicated Team Europe Initiative on Justice and Security in Latin America and the Caribbean.
07/06 Spanish operation takes down police and customs officers helping ship cocaine and hashish into Europe. With the support of Europol’s European Financial and Economic Crime Centre, the Spanish Civil Guard (Guardia Civil) and National Police (Policía Nacional) have dismantled a drugs trafficking network which allegedly relied on corrupt law enforcement and customs officers to ship hundreds of millions of euros’ worth of cocaine and hashish into Western Europe.
