The NCB-Mumbai seized a consignment of 2.80 kg of cocaine. Two foreign nationals were also arrested in connection with the matter.
24/11 – Hong Kong Seizes 64 Million Suspected Illicit Cigarettes. Hong Kong Customs reported Tuesday the seizure of approximately 64 million suspected illicit cigarettes with an estimated market value of HKD$180 million (US$23 million). In an operation across the Tsing Yi and Kwai Chung districts, authorities took action against a smuggling ring that transported millions of cigarettes through multiple shipping yards, confiscating six containers packed with the cigarettes.
25/11 – 44 arrested in Europe-wide crackdown against high-risk criminal network. An unprecedented international operation, involving judicial and law enforcement authorities from 11 countries, has resulted in the arrest of 44 individuals. The arrested individuals were suspected of belonging to a high-risk criminal network considered one of the most dangerous in the European Union.

More than 7,000 people were killed in South Africa from June to September, representing a 14 percent increase compared to the same period last year, according to the latest crime statistics released by the South African Police Service.

Law enforcement officials from 27 INTERPOL countries joined forces in the Africa Cyber Surge Operation to counter cybercrime across the continent. Against the backdrop of the huge financial losses suffered by companies, businesses and individuals, the four-month operation (July to November 2022) saw officers detect, investigate and disrupt cybercrime through coordinated law enforcement activities utilizing INTERPOL platforms, tools and channels, in close cooperation with AFRIPOL.
