Last week, two projects of the EU Global Illicit Flows Programme -SEACOP and CRIMJUST- joined forces to organise a seminar aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Peruvian Maritime Intelligence Unit in Callao, Peru.
Launched on Monday 13 May 2024, the seminar’s opening ceremony witnessed the participation of representatives from the National Port Authority, the EU Delegation in Peru and our focal point DEVIDA.
Over the course of three days, participants delved into:
🔍 Analysis of Current Threats in Peru and the region.
🕵️♂️ Study of Criminal Organisations and their various modalities.
💰Module on ethics and integrity to prevent corruption.
The training sessions were led by a female expert, Chief Officer from the Prefectura Naval Argentina.
The goal of this seminar is to equip attendees with the tools necessary to (i) enhance information gathering based on criminal modus operandi; (ii) Strengthen international cooperation and; (iii) Conduct joint operations within the framework of Peruvian legislation.
