During the period of May 15 to 26, 2023, a group of 10 members from AIRCOP’s Joint Airport Interdiction Task Forces (JAITFs) in Argentina, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and Peru gathered at Guarulhos International Airport in Sao Paulo, Brazil. They came together to participate in the 26th course on the Repression of International Drug Trafficking, organized and conducted by INTERCOPS.
The primary objective of the course was to provide a platform for the exchange of experiences and information in the field of criminal research within international airports. Through a series of conferences and activities led by highly skilled trainers from the Brazilian Federal Police and Customs, the participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the operational model, organizational structure, criminal investigation procedures, and enforcement activities specific to international airports.
Furthermore, the course facilitated the sharing of experiences among participants and enabled discussions on the common challenges faced by countries in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region. This exchange of ideas fostered valuable synergies, which are crucial elements in the ongoing fight against transnational organized crime.
