From the 19th to the 21st August 2020, the CRIMJUST and AIRCOP teams organised the delivery of a series of training course on ethics and integrity for law enforcement officers forming the Joint Airport Interdiction Task Force in West Africa, including Cabo Verde, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau and Nigeria where the two projects operate.
The training focused on integrity principles, the consequences of corrupt practices and put emphasis on airport specific challenges and existing reporting mechanisms. Enhanced integrity and accountability of law enforcement and the judiciary are essential pillars of the CRIMJUST project within the Global illicit Flows Programme and beyond.
CRIMJUST and AIRCOP have established and developed a solid cooperation to provide training to the AIRCOP-supported JAITFs in West Africa and Latin America.
