From 1 to 5 August 2022, the 12th National Training on the Control of General Aviation was held in Praia, Cape Verde within the framework of COLIBRI. The workshop was attended by 36 officials, including 13 women, belonging to the main national administrations in charge of general aviation control and the fight against illicit trafficking in the country: Customs, National Police, Judicial Police, and the Air Force.
With a total length of 25 hours, the course allowed participants to reinforce their theoretical knowledge on general aviation as well as to deeply examine real case studies in order to draw lessons and best practices to be applied in their daily work.
The national training was opened by the National Director of the Judicial Police, Mr. Ricardo Claudio Monteiro Goncalves, and the Head of the Political, Press and Information Section from the EU delegation in Cape Verde, Mr. Ignacio Sobrino Castelló, both highlighting the importance of international collaboration and the inter-agency nature of the Project, which allows to effectively combat cross-border organised crime.
