- The UK National Crime Agency has reported two nationals from Turkey were sentenced to 22 and 20 years after being found with 3.2 tonnes of cocaine with estimated street value of £512 million. According to the NCA senior investigating officer investigation for this case involved law enforcement agencies from different countries including UK, France, Turkey, Guyana and Tanzania.
- International concerns have been raised over a deadly anti-drug policy of the Philippines’ new president. Duterte has ordered the police and military to kill people suspected of either using or selling drugs without due process.
