- Yury Fedotov, the Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has said that the nexus between terrorists and criminals has strengthened over the last decade.
- A Coast Guard cutter reportedly arrived in San Diego with more than 14 tonnes of cocaine, following 19 separate seizures. This included a 10.5 tonne seizure from a coastal freighter.

- An amount of cocaine estimated to be worth around $350,000 has been found washed up on a beach in the Cayman Islands.
- French customs officers have reportedly seized more than 2 tonnes of cocaine from a boat sailing in the Caribbean. Michael Lauchaux, director of operations in Martinique, said this was the biggest cocaine seizure ever by the French.
