02/08 Dominican gangs have become Spain’s primary urban security threat. On July 23, Spanish authorities announced the arrest of seven members of the Dominicans Don’t Play (DDP) street gang and the dismantling of a local chapter that operated in the Henares corridor of the greater Madrid area.
03/08 Colombia announces seizure of 116 tons of cocaine. The drugs were seized between May 15 and June 30 in air and land operations and in the waters of the Caribbean, Pacific and Atlantic, authorities said. Troops participated from Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, the United States, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Panama, Paraguay and Peru, among other countries.
04/08 US Border Patrol and Air and Marine Operations agents, along with Puerto Rico Police Joint Forces for Rapid Action collaborated to seize more than 2,000 kilos of cocaine in two separate incidents over this past weekend within the southeastern coast of the island. The estimated value of the seized cocaine is $ 67.5 million.
05/08 The United States Coast Guard offloaded drugs worth more than $1.4 billion at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. The agency announced that the crew of the Cutter James offloaded about 27,000 kilos of cocaine and approximately 550 kilos of marijuana.
05/08 A Spanish citizen has been detained at an airport in Brazil after federal police discovered that he had 24 suitcases filled with cocaine on a private jet. The jet’s destination was Brussels, and the amount of cocaine is estimated to be more than one ton.
06/08 Albanian Special Prosecution to investigate banana business owner for cocaine trafficking. He is the father of Arbër Çekaj, who was sentenced to 14 years in prison in September 2018 for trafficking 613 kg of cocaine from Colombia in banana shipping containers.

08/08 Nigerian National Drug Law Enforcement Agency says it has seized more than 8,268 kilos of assorted illicit drugs, including cocaine, heroin, tramadol, methamphetamine, and skunk, among others. This happened in a weeklong coordinated raids in Ondo State, Akwa Ibom, Adamawa, Enugu State, Bauchi State, Edo and Anambra.
