14/12 – The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted 73 locally manufactured guns and 891 cartridges concealed in bags of rice. Three suspects were arrested and investigation is ongoing.
14/12 – The Spanish Agencia Tributaria, in collaboration with the Guardia Civil, seized a cargo of 200 kilos of marijuana in the Port of Bilbao. The drugs were hidden in furniture that was destined for the United Kingdom.
14/12 – Cameroon customs seized eighty live cobras and vipers at Douala airport in Cameroon, before being boarded on a commercial flight to London. This is the first seizure of this type of reptiles at Douala airport.
15/12 – The Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas (DNCD) and members of Ministerio Público of the Dominican Republic arrested a man who was allegedly part of the criminal network that tried to smuggle more than a tonne of cocaine and firearms out of the country to Europe.
16/12 – Lithuanian border guards seized 70 kilograms of drugs (cocaine and amphetamines), with a value that can reach 6-7 million euros on the black market.
17/12 – Marshall Islands police officers made the largest cocaine seizure in their history, after discovering a boat carrying 49 kg of cocaine with no one on board. It is suspected that the boat had probably drifted from Central or South America.
17/12 – Spanish Policiá National, supported by Europol, took down a large Russian-speaking high-risk organised crime network involved in different criminal activities including murder, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, trafficking of human beings and extortion. The organisation was active across Europe, South America and the United States.
