28/12 – The Dirección Central Antinarcóticos (DICAN) of the Dominican Policía Nacional seized 2,708 grams of different types of drugs such as cocaine, marijuana and crack during operations on 27 December.
28/12 – Under the Operation “Alfil Caído”, the Chilean Carabineros seized 631 kilos of cocaine in the north of the country.
29/12 – The Spanish Civil Guard dismantled in Malaga an international group dedicated to arms trafficking destined for drug trafficking organizations in southern Spain.
29/12 – The Policía Metropolitana of Pereira (Colombia) arrested a man for drug trafficking and seized 374 kilos of marijuana.
30/12 – The Spanish Civil Guard, in a joint operation with the Spanish National Police and the Tax Agency, dismantled a criminal organization in Malaga allegedly dedicated to drug trafficking. Seven people were arrested and and 843 kilograms of hashish were seized.
30/12 – The Colombian Policía Nacional, in coordination with the Fiscalía General de la Nación, arrested 70 people accused of committing extortion and kidnapping crimes in different parts of the country.
31/12 – According to the Mexican army, fentanyl seizures increased by almost 500% in 2020. On the final day of the year an estimated 1.3 tons of the synthetic opioid were seized, compared to 222 kilograms in 2019.
02/01 – The Spanish Civil Guard and the National Police, in a joint operation with the Romanian Police, dismantled a criminal organization dedicated to trafficking in human beings for the purpose of labor exploitation. Eight people were arrested and ten people freed.
02/01 – The Spanish Civil Guard dismantled a network dedicated to the international trafficking of hashish on the coast of Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Officers arrested 19 people and seized about 4 tons of hashish.
