07/12 – Panamanian law enforcement destroyed 6.2 tons of marijuana and 30.2 tonnes of cocaine, which were part of the seizures made during operations carried out by the Policía Nacional, Servicio Nacional de Fronteras (Senafront) and Servicio Nacional Aeronaval (Senan) in recent months.
07/12 – Operation Armstrong VII, a joint operation among law enforcement agencies in 25 European countries and the United States, saw more than 42,000 packages searched and nearly 300 weapons seized, including six firearms, several constituent firearms parts, knives, pepper spray and tasers, as well as several hundred rounds of ammunition.
07/12 – At London Gateway port, U.K. Border Force seized more than a tonne of cocaine hidden among a shipment of banana pulp bound for Europe. Agents thought the cocaine had been placed in the ship in Colombia and was bound for Antwerp via Rotterdam.
08/12 – Maltese Customs seized a large consignment of Tramadol, an analgesic whose strength is claimed to be about 10% of morphine. According to agents, this is among Malta’s greatest drug seizures.
08/12 – Law enforcement authorities, led by Frontex with the support of Europol, seized 37 million illegal cigarettes and more than 3.5 thousand litres of illegal fuel in a ten-day operation known as JAD Arktos 2.
09/12 –The SPanish Civil Guard dismantled an arms trafficking network in the provinces of Alicante, Guipúzcoa, Madrid, Ciudad Real, Barcelona, Granada and Murcia. Nine people were arrested and six are investigated for the alleged crimes of arms trafficking, possession of prohibited weapons, storage of ammunition, falsification of public documents, usurpation of functions and against public health.
10/12 – Operation Shield, a joint operation among law enforcement agencies from 27 countries (19 EU Member States and 8 third-party countries) coordinated by Europol, dismantled 25 criminal groups, arrested nearly 700 suspects accused of allegedly trafficking counterfeit and misused medicines and doping substances.
11/12 – Operation Turquesa II, an international operation led by INTERPOL, brought down criminal networks involved in migrant smuggling, and led to more than 200 arrests and the identification of some 3,500 irregular migrants in the Americas, Africa, Europe and Asia.
13/12 – Malaysia’s maritime agency seized more than two tonnes of crystal methamphetamine worth 105.9 million ringgit ($26.2 million) from a boat off the country’s west coast, its largest-ever haul of the drug.
