- Between March and May 2018, INTERPOL coordinated operations in 36 countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and South America, with the aim of shutting down factories and cutting off supply chains behind a wide range of counterfeit goods and the organised crime networks directing them. The operations yielded global seizures worth USD 25 million.
- Europol has supported the Spanish Guardia Civil and the National Police of Colombia in dismantling two criminal organisations involved in large-scale money laundering. It is estimated that the EUR 2.5 million have been laundered using different methods, including smurfing and cryptocurrency exchanges.
- The Customs services of the Tunis Carthage international airport foiled a smuggling operation where 5,4 kg of cannabis was hidden inside the luggage of an Ivorian passenger coming in from Abidjan.
- The CARICOM Regional Commission on Marijuana has recommended the declassification of marijuana as a dangerous drug in all legislation and the reclassification of the drug as a controlled substance in its report presented at the CARICOM heads of government meeting on 4-6 July 2018.
- At least 656 kg of cocaine were intercepted at the Port of Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, Brazil, from the Federal Revenue Service and the Federal Police. The illegal shipment was bound for the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
