SEACOP held its 3rd International Seminar in its Series of Case Studies and Threats Strategy on Friday, 11 October 2024, at the Colombian Navy’s facilities in Cartagena de Indias.
Knowledge of the threat is fundamental to effectively combat transnational organised crime.
In this context, and taking into account the start of operations of the Port of Chancay in Peru, SEACOP organised this international seminar, inviting international experts, representatives of CMCON, the Peruvian authorities, DIRANDRO, DEVIDA, Ministry of the Interior, and SUNAT.
Also present at this meeting were authorities from Ecuador, private sector representatives such as the Director of the Maritime and Port Chamber of the National Association of Businessmen of Colombia (ANDI), and a cybersecurity expert from the Center for Ocean Policy & Economics (COPE).
“Consolidating an increasingly strong partnership between the public and private sector is a new objective of SEACOP in its mission to combat organised crime in the maritime domain,” explained SEACOP Regional Coordinator Alfredo Diaz Sanchez.
Thanks to all participants for their excellent presentations. Special thanks to the Colombian Navy and CMCON for their outstanding collaboration with the project.
