Celebrating Women’s Empowerment in Maritime Security !
Yesterday, SEACOP celebrated Women in Maritime Security Day in Latin America through a very successful webinar. This special event aimed to recognise and celebrate the empowerment and integration of women in the maritime security sector.
Women from partner countries of SEACOP, including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Martinique the National Spanish Police, came together to celebrate their peers’ efforts.
Representatives from our partner project Maritime Analysis and Operations Centre (Narcotics) – MAOC (N) were also in attendance.
Participants praised SEACOP’s unwavering efforts in promoting gender mainstreaming across all positions related to combating illicit maritime trafficking.
The webinar showcased inspiring stories of women breaking barriers and making significant contributions to maritime security. Discussions emphasised the vital role #women play in building safer and more inclusive maritime environments.
