On Monday, October 2nd, Regional Coordinator karen clarke and Deputy Jason Kelshall convened the 2nd National Steering Committee meeting in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
This event held particular significance, coinciding with the appointment of the new Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of National Security, LouAnn Thomas, and Commissioner of Police, Enville Williams, on the same day. The Commander of the Coastguard Deon Henry was also in attendance.
The discussions during the meeting revolved around the positive impact that St. Vincent and the Grenadines has experienced since the start of SEACOP’s implementation in 2015. A forward-looking perspective was also raised regarding SEACOP Phase VI, scheduled to commence in November 2023.
Bilateral meetings and reviews also took place with the well-established Maritime Intelligence Unit and Joint Maritime Control Unit of the country.
During the meeting, representatives of the Government and law enforcement agencies of St. Vincent and the Grenadines reiterated their steadfast commitment to supporting this vital project.
