On 14-15 December 2021, the SEACOP team gathered at FIIAPP’s headquarters in Madrid, for its 3rd coordination committee.
Over two days, the team members discussed the state of play of the project, 6 months after its official launch.
Discussions revolved around the inception report submitted to the European Commission, meetings and outreach missions conducted in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean as well as internal organisational matters.
⚓️ SEACOP V was launched in May 2021, as the fifth phase of a project dedicated to fighting against maritime illicit trade and associated criminal networks in the above mentioned regions, consistent with human rights.
Ultimately, the project seeks to contribute to the alleviation of the trade’s negative impact on security, public health and socio-economic development.
