Last week, SEACOP Regional Coordinator for the Caribbean Karen Clarke organised a national steering committee with local partners in St Kitts and Nevis.
The NSC aimed to discuss a number of issues relevant to the partnership between the project and the partner country.
Most specifically, the NSC covered the launch of the latest and fifth phase of SEACOP, training for Joint Maritime Control Units and Maritime Intelligence Units, nominations, Memorandum of Understanding, equipment needs, seizure notifications/success stories, and sustainability plans, among others.
The event was attended by Mr Osmond Petty PS for Ministry of National Security, Commander Lenn Daniel Head of St Kitts and Nevis Coastguard, Mr Jomo Butler Head of St Kitts and Nevis Customs, Assistant Police Commissioner McCarta Browne, Superintendent Everton Mitchum – Head of Police Intelligence and Operations.
The Federation of St Kitts and Nevis has benefitted from the SEACOP project since 2015.
