Excited to announce that we launched a maritime intelligence training yesterday in Montevideo, Uruguay 🇺🇾 ! This marks the 2️⃣nd edition of this training delivered by SEACOP in the country.
This time, trainers from the Brazilian Federal Police, the Argentinean Naval Prefecture, and SEACOP’s Latin America Regional Coordinator Alfredo Diaz will focus on updating and deepening the knowledge acquired from the successful first training held in November 2022.
On the inauguration day, held Monday 24 July at the Uruguayan Naval Prefecture facilities, the Minister of National Defence, Javier Garcia, delivered the opening remark, alongside Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation, Mr. Markus Handke.
Other high-level guests were also in attendance, including Rear Admiral Elizondo from the National Naval Prefect, Juan Curbelo from the National Port Authority, and Roberto Pereyra, the Major Commissioner of the National Police.
This theoretical and practical training will seek to equip 15 officials from Customs, National Police, and Naval Prefecture with essential tools to combat illicit maritime trafficking effectively.
