Yesterday, SEACOP held the 7th edition of its Threats and Cases Studies webinar series with highlights from our long standing partner Maritime Analysis and Operations Centre (Narcotics) – MAOC (N).
Initiated in January 2023, this series of webinars aims to offer a platform for countries across Latin America to exchange practical knowledge gained from their operational experiences in the fight against illicit maritime trafficking.
More specifically, these exchanges seek to gain a better understanding of the new threats and routes used by criminal organisations, and innovative techniques used by organised crime at sea.
🗣 In yesterday’s session, our MAOC-(N) led the meeting with a presentation delivered by a dedicated Liaison Officer and an analyst. Their presentation showcased the importance of interregional coordination and intelligence sharing.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to MAOC-N for their unwavering support and collaboration throughout Phase V of the SEACOP Project. Their expertise and collaboration have been instrumental in advancing our shared goals of maritime security and safety!
“Threat awareness, experience sharing, and international cooperation are not mere options; they should be an obligation,” stated SEACOP Regional Coordinator for Latin America Alfredo Diaz Sanchez at the closing of the event.
