From 24 to 28 April, SEACOP Regional Coordinator in Latin America supervised an advanced training in maritime intelligence for Peruvian officials.
Held at the facilities of the Port Authority of Callao, the course was delivered by experts from the Federal Police of Brazil and Naval Prefecture of Argentina together with our Regional Coordinator for Latin America.
19 officials belonging to institutions such as SUNAT, National Police, Port Authority and Navy, as well as representatives of the Anti-Drug Prosecutor’s Office of Callao.
This theoretical and practical training aimed at strengthening intelligence gathering throughout the logistics chain and national and international coastal zone used by criminal organisations.
The closing ceremony was attended by the EU Delegation in Peru, the Argentinean Naval Attaché, the Liaison Officer of the Federal Police of Brazil and our focal point DEVIDA, who provides invaluable support for the implementation of the project in Peru.
During the last day of training, the trainees were able to visit the facilities of the Coast Guard Command and the Maritime Information Centre of the Peruvian Navy.
