SEACOP is currently participating in the 39th iteration of Exercise Tradewinds (TW24) which opened last week (4 May 2024) in Christ Church, Barbados.
📸 SEACOP Deputy Regional Coordinator Alexander Kellman delivers a brief and ‘Intro to Maritime Intelligence’ lesson.
About Exercise Tradewinds: Since its inception in 1984, Tradewinds has been a cornerstone for regional security cooperation, involving forces from the Caribbean, the USA, Canada, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
This year’s exercise, set to run until May 16th, continues to strengthen cooperation among partner countries of the Caribbean and enhance regional security.
This year, participants are engaging in a multi-domain exercise encompassing ground, air, sea, and cyber operations. The scenarios are designed to counter threats from Transnational Criminal Organizations and Violent Extremist Organizations, enhancing CARICOM: Caribbean Community‘s operational procedures and regional collaboration.
Throughout the exercise, regional agencies, security forces, and Observer/Trainer Teams are dedicated to building capacity for CARICOM, the Regional Security System (RSS), CARICOM IMPACS, and the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA)
At the end of TW24, an After-Action Review will serve to share lessons learned and integrate them into future exercises, enhancing preparedness and interagency cooperation.
