On Monday 22 January 2023, the Senegalese Navy made an impressive seizure of 805kg of cocaine, 335 km away from Dakar.
Carried out with the support of the French FALCON 50 maritime patrol aircraft stationed in Dakar and the JMCU team supported by SEACOP, the operation resulted in the interception of a vessel transporting the cocaine, hidden in 14 different types of wrappings.
The crew included three Ghambians, three Ghaneans and one Italian, who are currently in custody and under investigation by the authorities.
This operation highlights both the sensitivity of West Africa in the fight against narcotraffic by sea and the excellent cooperation with the French Navy.
Congratulations to all involved!
