On 23 August 2024, SEACOP began its new series of Workshops on Illicit Drug Trafficking for Latin American countries and the Dominican Republic. This marks an important milestone, where each of the local SEACOP trainers—who were trained last July in Argentina— will begin delivering training on illicit maritime trafficking within their own countries.
“In just one month since they underwent the regional ToT in Argentina , SEACOP trainers from 5 countries— Argentina, Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay — are now delivering their own workshop on Drug Trafficking,” explained SEACOP Regional Coordinator for Latin America Alfredo Diaz.
They trained around 60 students on vessel profiling and key illicit maritime routes. These workshops will be held monthly, following the SEACOP training guide and enriched by the trainers’ professional experience.
Next on the agenda? Brazil 🇧🇷, Ecuador 🇪🇨, and Colombia 🇨🇴
A big thank you to all SEACOP partners for supporting this initiative—your collaboration is driving this success!
