CRIMJUST partner countries met, between 28 and 29 August, with representatives of the Mexican Federal Police and the General Prosecutor of the Republic in Mexico to exchange best practices in effectively tackling drug trafficking.
Aimed at enhancing regional and south-south cooperation, CRIMJUST in collaboration with the UNODC Mexico regional office, organised an exchange visit to Mexico of criminal justice officials from Argentina, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Panama.
The meetings encouraged best practices exchange related to international cooperation in the investigation and prosecution of organised crime cases.
The exchange visit allowed participants to discuss avenues and learn from the Mexican experience related to investigations and disruption of cocaine trafficking. It also offered an opportunity for sharing methodologies and tools for international law enforcement cooperation among the different countries.
