Following the increasing efforts of the Argentinian government to combat aerial drug trafficking, traffickers have allegedly started using amphibious aircrafts into the country. According to the Argentine Anti-Drugs Association, several planes depart from Pilar in Paraguay and arrive on Parana and Uruguay rivers in Argentina.
The Colombia Armed Forces dismantled a massive cocaine processing lab allegedly run by the ELN in the western department of Nariño. The complex was estimated to be worth over US$3.2 million.
The Brazilian Air Force intercepted a small airplane which was transporting 350 kg of cocaine. The plane, which departed from Mato Grosso state, was forced to land in Araçatuba, where two people were arrested.
