Last week, SEACOP supported Argentina’s Joint Maritime Control Unit in seizing a cocaine shipment to Europe. On 28 April, the JMCU team in Argentina intercepted around 78 kilograms in the Port of Zarate that were intended to be sent to Europe via Belgium.
The modality used by the criminal organisation was the “gancho ciego”, also known as “rip off”, which was thwarted by the work of the SEACOP Team in Argentina, specifically by members of the Naval Prefecture.
The successful operation was also supported by the collaboration and cooperation of the countries of the Paraná River waterway in the fight against drugs, an aspect actively supported by the SEACOP project.
